After more than a decade of honing her artistic skills through illustrations for magazines and book covers, Ploy Chariyaves presents Envol, a book of her works collected over the past decade. In Envol, in French means to fly off , Ploy traces her inspirations from when she first began to draw to her present collection, a successful collaboration with the famous Paris-based home décor brand Asiatides. Her drawings and paintings reflect strong persona of the subjects, with vibrant colors that capture their spirits. They are unconventional, inspired by her surroundings, including everyday objects, people, animals and flowers alike. Some motifs are a mix of East and West; her harmonious brush strokes are natural and alive. They are 'a catalogue of characters full of joie de vivre, colours and energy'.
Ploy Chariyaves is an artist-writer based in Bangkok, Thailand. She has published up to 15 books on breakfast, coffee and travel. She is currently a contributor for Vogue (Thailand) Online and Marketeer Magazine Online. Ploy has worked with Asiatides, Paris. She is the artist & designer who has developed unique drawings for ceramic collection Envol.
